Facebook’s chief executive officer Mark Zuckerberg on Wednesday said he wants to make the company a “better” company that is “more open and more welcoming” to “anyone who wants to participate” in its new platform for advertising and content.
In a post on the company’s blog, Zuckerberg said he has made his position clear to the company board that he is committed to making Facebook a better place to work and play for everyone.
He said he hopes to make his position crystal clear to board members by the end of the year.
“I want to show that our vision for Facebook and the future is clear,” Zuckerberg wrote.
“I want us to make our vision a reality.
And I want us all to feel safe and comfortable about joining our new team.””
The challenge of building a better Facebook is not one of building more walls,” he wrote.
Instead, Zuckerberg writes that he wants Facebook to become a “great place for people to be” and that he has “been thinking long and hard about how to make that happen.”
In addition to being the chief executive of Facebook, Zuckerberg also serves as the founder and chief executive officers of Microsoft, Apple, Oracle, and Facebook.
In addition, Zuckerberg is the founder of an education technology company called Teach for America and the former chairman of Facebook.
