The New England Patriots are very confident in their quarterback, Tom Brady, to start the season, according to coach Bill Belichick.
Brady will likely be tested in the opener against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday and will get a chance to prove he can carry the team in the regular season against the Denver Broncos, but he is more than ready to start.
Brady is “in the best place I’ve ever been in,” Belichick said.
“I’m very confident that he can play well.
He’s a tremendous young man.
I’m sure he’ll do well.
I think he’s going to have a great year.”
Brady threw for 2,845 yards and 20 touchdowns last season.
He completed 71 percent of his passes for 3,846 yards and 32 touchdowns.
He has yet to have more than one interception in his career.
The Patriots are in the first round of the playoffs, and Belichick has said he believes the team has the ability to win the Super Bowl.
